Celebrating the Phenomenal Beauty of Voluptuous Women

As a 50-year-old woman who continues to work at embracing her curves, I believe that every body type is stunning in its own right.

However, in today's society, the curvy body has been unfairly stigmatized, with excessive curves seen as unacceptable. This is a far cry from the past, when curvy women were celebrated across cultures for their beauty, fertility, and divine femininity. A glance at ancient art and sculptures reveals women with round hips, ample breasts, and fuller figures—all of whom are breathtakingly beautiful. We need to be reminded that our curves are a natural work of art, and we are masterpieces! It wasn't until the 20th century that the ideal body type shifted towards a younger, athletic, and slender physique, although no one knows why.

As someone who has experienced this shift firsthand, I can attest that my body has changed over time, but every part still serves a purpose. My arms may be flabbier, but they still offer comforting hugs. My breasts may be saggy, but they still cradle my loved ones. My belly may be fuller, but it's a testament to my resilience in the face of cancer. My thighs may be thicker, but they still support the weight of my children on my lap. And my round bottom may be, well, much more rounder than when I was younger, but it's a reminder of all the amazing experiences I've had.

While I'm not always confident in my body, I'm trying to focus on its beauty and the story it tells of self-love and acceptance. I am blessed to have my partner's unwavering support and admiration, as he reminds me often of my worth and beauty.

So, to all the women out there, I want to remind you that YOU ARE GORGEOUS, regardless of your size.

Own your curves, celebrate your uniqueness, and remember that your beauty is not defined by a number on the scale.

You ARE a masterpiece, a work of art, and a stunning creation. Don't let anyone dull your sparkle - shine bright, and know that you are enough, just as you are.
